"The Tufo Rosa" offers hospitality in elegant and furnished rooms of a restored house in the old bastion of the Orsini Fortress of Pitigliano in Tuscan Maremma. The origins of the building date back to the middle of the XVth century, it was built, at first, as a fortification with cannons and sentinels, later it was transformed into a private residence until this last modification when it was designed and furnished as a guest-house. It is situated on the angle of the bastion, on the square that leads to the old gateway. It is a central position in an enchanting place. "Il Tufo Rosa" is your landmark for a unique stay. A journey to discover lost sensations coming from the past and from uncontaminated nature.
The rooms, on two floors, can be reached through a winding stair; on the wall you will notice the reproduction of the Rose, symbol of the Orsini Family.
Each room has the name of Countess that had an important role in the history of Pitigliano starting from the middle of 13th century to Renaissance.
Every room is equipped of independent services, heating, Tv and some also have air conditioning, and mini-bar, for a good stay.
Breakfast and half- board are only on request and in agreement with nearby coffee-bar and restaurants.

Il Tufo Rosa offers to small families or friends that travel together, that would enjoy the possibility to use the kitchen, its apartment which is meant for longer stays.
It is located at a very short distance from the Locanda, roughly 200 m., in a central position and close to the old town, not far from supermarkets, shops, bars and bakery shops, with a large public parking space. It is situated on the 3rd floor of a residential building, with a large and sunny terrace equipped with a gazebo, living room, tables to eat outside and sun beds for the terrace.

The owners produce their own extra-virgin olive oil of excellent quality from their 600 olive trees. A way to take with you the taste of our land: the Maremma.
